1) Can I see both parents? Sometimes the sire is in another state, so this is not always possible and proves the breeder does not breed only because she has a male and a female bloodhound, but looks elsewhere to improve her line.
2) Do you offer any health guarantees and what period of time do these cover.
3) Do you offer any guarantees on show quality puppies and what do they think those faults are or would be.
4) What is the return policy on the puppy if it does not work out.
5) Do you provide a record of worming and vaccinations.
6) Will you be given a pedigree and it should cover at least 4 generations.
7) Will you be provided with registration papers. (Remember...it is illegal to charge more for the papers)
8) What contracts do you use, such as spay/neuter, limited registration.
9) Can you see the show records of the puppies parents. (If you are buying a show quality puppy, the show ring is where the visible merits of breeding stock are acknowledged. Be suspicious of those who show little or no interest in showing but breed a lot!)
10) Can you see photos of progeny from either parents...this will show what they are producing.
